Hey everyone,

I'm new to the boards and was hoping someone would be able to help me with this because I am at an absolute loss. I'm from Long Island so I'm looking for anything in Nassau or Suffolk County! Anyway,
My emergency room CO-Pay is Extremely high and I just can't afford it up front like they insist. Urgent Care/City MD/Walk in is much more affordable for me. I took a bad fall down the stairs this afternoon and I have a huge lump on my arm, cut my tongue open, I'm in massive pain. I don't typically take pain medication because I'm luckily pretty healthy but I really need to get to a walk in tomorrow that will examine me, make sure I'm okay and be ok prescribing me pain meds (at least for a few days until I can afford the ER when my paycheck comes in). I know these walk in places are reluctant to give narcotics and I can understand why but like I said, I do not use these drugs (nor any other drugs other than a legally prescribed small dosage of Xanax) so I figured I would ask if ANYONE knew of a walk in that has prescribed them a narcotic or will without too much hassle. Like I said, this is Injury based and just for short term usage as I've been sobbing from the pain all night.

If anyone has experience where they were able to get a pain med from a walk in on LI or knows of a good one, please please please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it because I am absolutely miserable and at a complete loss.

Thanks in advance everyone!
Kay

Generally an ER Co Pay for an accident is MUCH cheaper than if it is an illness. I think my plan calls for a $0 co pay although I have great coverage. Call your Insurance company and drag yourself into the E.R. anyway, something might be broken!
