can Twynsta 80/10 be cut in half and taken as Twynsta 40/5 ?

From the information I've found, it seems that the tablets should not be cut, the advisory information says they should be swallowed whole.

Usually this means that the medications is either time released, or there is some special coating to help prevent damage that it may due to the linings of your gastro-intestinal system.
