Trouble Finding A New Doctor To Refill My Vyvanse
UpdatedMy current doctor is unfortunately in the hospital very ill which forced me to find a new doctor to refill my Vyvanse and let me tell ya...... it's been extremely difficult and still have had no luck. Let me just tell y'all what one Doctor told me when I informed her I needed my Vyvanse filled..... She informed me instead, that this is a touchy subject for her on a personal level, as her son is addicted to Crystal Meth and compared Vyvanse to Crystal Meth. When I asked her if she is comparing Vyvanse to Crystal Meth and she replied.....Yes! Now, isn't that unethical??

The unethical part is refusing you treatment based on her personal bias. Comparing that medication to methamphetamine is uneducated. Maybe she needs some continuing education classes? The licensing board should be made aware of this.
It's not unethical... Technically they are both stimulants. I would find another doctor if you need Vyvanse. Sounds like she doesn't like these meds at all.
That sounds like some crap a nurse practitioner would say. That's not fair for her to basically call you a drug addict because her son is a meth head. I feel your struggle. Sometimes you have to put up with a lot of nonsense from these doctors because the DEA has made them terrified to write controlled prescriptions.
Why hasn't the doctor's office where your sick doctor practices found someone to fill in or refer his patients to?? I would be expecting them to find someone to handle my prescription in your doctor's absence.
Re: Optimistic (# 1)
How do I find their contact information?

That's definitely unethical in my opinion. She needs to separate her personal life from her professional life. She refused my treatment because of personal beliefs and told me that herself.

That's fine if you think that and yes she should try to not let that influence her treatments but she is human so I will. Doctors don't have to prescribe certain medications if they dont want to. I'm on Adderall and was on Vyvanse also and I went on them in 2011 and I stopped for 2 years in 2014 and 2015. When I went back to my doctor to ask to be put back on he told me he doesn't want to prescribe those anyone because they (light you your brain receptors just like cocaine) in his words.. I eventually got him to prescribe them again when he was in a better mood. If this doctor is going to give you trouble just look for a doctor that is more open to prescribing add stimulate meds.

You're right. I'm still looking. I can't believe I'm having this much trouble.
I actually found a wonderful doctor who immediately wrote 3 months prescription of Vyvanse with very little questions as I had a record of being previously diagnosed with ADHD and was an established patient on Vyvanse previously before my doctor was hospitalized. It's so convienent as I only have to go to the doctor every three months.
