Trimethoprim For Root Canal Problem

I cant get to the dentist as have hpspital appointment tomorrow. I have some trimethoprim left from a urinary inection last year, can I use these til the Thursday or Friday when I can go to the dentist. Or should I just wait..worried it will get worse.

Actually, it isn't likely to help, because Trimethoprim has a very small number of bacteria that it is effective at treating and they are not usually the ones that cause such dental infections.
