Trimeth Sulfa Ds, For Otitis Media

I am prescribed this drug for recurrent middle ear infection. Do I still need to drink plenty of water taking this medicin?

Hi Pratik D,

I would just recommend listening to your body and staying hydrated throughout the day as needed. However, drinking a gallon of water a day is usually adequate for most individuals who are active and require more hydration.

The instructions for taking this medication note the following:

"Co-trimoxazole comes as a tablet and a liquid to take by mouth. It usually is taken two times a day but may be taken up to four times a day for severe lung infections. Drink a full glass of water with each dose."
