Is the combination of Trimebutine + Simethicone available in the USA? If so, where can I find it?

Hi Verwon,
An update on the Trimebutine trial: I quit using it for a period to test my fatigue level & took various other medications including Domperidone, Buscopan, Resotran as substitutes. Nothing worked to control my abdominal pain anywhere near as well as the Trimebutine & fatigue levels were unchanged so I have now returned to regimen of 3 x 200 mg / day.
I have learned that I can take it along with the Sinemet & Azilect I take 6 times a day but have learned to avoid the dose of Lax a Day I also take as it seems to reduce the effectiveness of many drugs.
I have also learned that if I lie down on my back & relax my abdomen at the first sign of pain or even a queasy feeling I can ward off the worst of episodes (Perhaps only available for retirees like myself!).
I hope it works for you! Please let me know!
As listed by the FDA, Prucalopride's side effects may possibly include headache, nausea and diarrhea.
Thanks, I quit taking the Trimebutine but have noticed no change in the fatigue that I experience. Both that & the abdominal pain that I am trying to treat may both be symptoms of advancing Parkinson's, now 8 years since diagnosis.
My specialist has given me a trial course of the drug Resotran (Prucalopride), I will report back with any success.
No, I'm sorry, I've not been able to find any information on that.
But most likely, it's because there are already equivalent medications on the market here that have already been proven to be safe and effective.
Does anyone else know?
HI Verwon, I am a Canadian whose abdominal pain has been helped with the use of Trimebutine. However, I am suffering from a increasing fatigue that SEEMS to be caused by the drug. Any idea why it is not sold in the USA? I see that fatigue is one of the listed side effects but can find no other info.
Hello, Papaga! How are you?
No, I'm sorry, but Trimebutine is not available in the U.S.
Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to help you find an equivalent.
What condition are you wanting to treat with it?
The most common side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, includes nausea and flatulence.
