Trigestrel Vs Oralcon
UpdatedHi, I was on trigesteral for a year, but then I moved. When I went to the doctor I'm my new town, she said that trigesteral was too strong for me. And recommended oralcon. Is this safe? Will I be able to be intimate without protection while I'm on oralcon? I was happy on trigesteral but she said it might cause infertility, due to it being too strong for me

Hi, was wondering if you can help me, I been on oralcon contraceptive for a year and my doc did not have any more in stock of oralcon and gave me 3 months supply of trigestrel. I am on my last red pill of oralcon and just finished my period 3 days ago. When must I start the trigestrel and where on the pack? As I had intercourse last night. Please help!!! Thanks
I have been on Triphasil/Trigestrel for years but when I went last Saturday the sister gave me Orolcon as there was no stock & told me start with active pill. I told her I was going to start my period from the following week and she said it is fine and still start with the white active pill and my periods may be shorter. I have taken my 5th white pill & have all the feelings of my period going to start (the bloating, cramps) but only have a see through discharge but no period. Could this have cancelled my cycle which I have never missed in all the years because she started me in the active pill instead of waiting for my period to be over? Do I continue until I start my period and then go back to what I am used to as I am worried that I am unprotected.
When switching from one oral contraceptive to another, you can usually just make a smooth switch by starting the new pack in place of your old one on the first active pill, unless your doctor instructs otherwise.
As to the Trigestrel, it has not been known to cause infertility, and if you were not having problems taking it, then it was most likely not to strong for you. You can still have unprotected intercourse, as long as you don't miss any pills. As to the switch, it's generally thought that the lower the dose of hormones you take, the better, so that makes much more sense regarding her wanting you to switch.
Tinkerbell, yes, if you didn't have a break week of not taking any active tablets, you might not have a period this month, that is commonly how many women skip their periods, at times it would be inconvenient to have one, however, you are still protected, as long as you haven't skipped any active tablets. Whether or not you switch back is up to you, and your doctor.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi there, I've been using oralcon for over a year and three month and switched to trigestrel cause oralcon was out of stock. I've been on trigestrel for 3 months now and haven't yet had my period and I haven't skipped a pill since I started on it. Is this normal or should I be worried? And again when I started using I noticed spotting and that was it no period since then.please advise.
