Hi i went to the doctor today and was diagnosis with bronchitis and the doctor prescribe 875mg bid of Amoxicillin and Albuterol my question is why amoxicillin when its not usually prescribe for bronchitis and its such a high dose.

It can be prescribed to treat it, if your doctors thinks the bronchitis is due to a bacterial infection, it is a broad spectrum antibiotic that can be used to treat many types of infections.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
The dosage can be dependent upon severity.
