Trapic Mf, Uterine Fibroids, Prolonged Periods

I am 46 years old. Recent scan showed 2 uterine fibroids one about 4cm and another 2.5 cm. I have had heavy periods for over 2 years and was prescribed Trapic MF. It worked for 4-5 months. but after that my periods lengthened to 15-20 days and also with more pain during heavier periods.. I have been taking iron supplements to manage hemoglobin levels. My Doc said no surgery is needed, to manage with better diet exercise, bleeding and pain medication. Does Trapic mf lead to lengthening of periods? What alternatives exist?

At your age, that is actually normal and most likely means that your body is preparing for menopause, this stage is called perimenopause. You may also start to experience other symptoms, according to the NIH, such as nausea, headache, irritability, and more cycle irregularities.

Are you on any other medications? There are many that can also contribute to these issues.
