Tramadol Tolerance

I have reads that a person who was on Tramadol for 8 or 10 years and as a result, had to take 8 of the 50 mg tablets of Tramadol daily to get results. His Dr. decided to give him a derivative of the drug for a few months to help irradiate the tolerance that had developed from taking the Tramadol for so long. After using the new drug for 6 months or a year. ( Cant remember the details. the article was a few years back) or a year, he switched back to the Tramadol and needed only 200 mg Daily. I can't seem to find any more info on this any more but would be interested in cleaning out and starting anew with the Tramadol.

Hello, John! How are you?

This is known to work for some people and some doctors do recommend 'med vacations' to help something retain or regain efficacy.

The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
