Tramadol Paracetamol

prescribed 200mg tramadol modified release, twice daily. Is it safe to take paracetamol as well for breakthrough pain ?

You should ask your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain, but unless they instruct you otherwise, there shouldn't be a problem.

There is even a formulation on the market in most countries that couples the Tramadol with the Paracetamol, for better pain control. In the U.S. it is sold under the brand name Ultracet.
