Tramadol 50 Mg And Need Refilled
UpdatedI am prescribed tramadol every 4-6 hours, 1 tablet or as needed. I do take what I am asked plus an extra if needed because of my back pain. I'm currently on my last 3 and am prescribed 60. Is this a 30 day supply and am I able to get refilled? I just need to know so I can know whether or not to ask for another refill or not if I should wait until the 9th of next month or not?

Glittergirl,
First of all your tramadol is a prn order, meaning to be taken ONLY WHEN NEEDED, NOT AROUND THE CLOCK DOSING. Your labeling instructions are ambiguous. A BID order of 60 should last 30 days. This rx like others can be habit forming so doctors prescribe them with a degree of caution. You should only take direction from your prescribing professional or a RPh if unavailable. This class of drugs has created some unfortunate side effects in susceptible patients so please consult with a doctor before requesting another refill. Regards.
Wondering what I should ask when I go to the doctor today? If I should tell her the pain has increased or what? Because in between Motrin and Aleve it only takes the edge off a bit, not much and to be able to be comfortable I take more. I don't want to concern my doctor because I have been taking these for a few years but I was not so active like I was before. I have to work to survive and the kind of work I do (more than one job) requires more moving, so I wonder how I go to her today with only 6 pills left and what to ask or if I should?
@glittergirl,
The best thing to do in my opinion is to just be honest and genuine with your doctor about your pain. If the medication isn't helping as much as it used to or should, I would try to convey this in such a way that you express your concerns, yet still remaining completely permeable to your doctor's input so as to not come off as "drug seeking". Even if you have to bluntly say, "I don't want you to think of me as coming off a drug seeker, but I honestly don't feel like I'm getting an adequate level of relief from my current prescription (etc...etc.). In your professional opinion, would it be within reason (perhaps under your supervision) to try something stronger?" - There's probably no way of knowing if this would work, but I feel that such wording may keep a two-way street open between you and your doctor. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?
I was recently prescribed 45 tramadol pills on 8-3-17 (50mg 3x a day). When can I get this refilled?
Your ability to get a refill depends on how it's prescribed. I've been taking 2 Tramadol three times a day for 13 years. I have to request a new Rx from my doctor every 28 days. Different doctors have different methods. Some will give refills and others will not.
Also it depends on whether you will need to take it long term or as needed only.
Talk to your doctor.
Your prescription is for 45 pills. Directions are 1 tablet 3 times per day (one every 8 hours). So 45 divided by 3 equals 15 days. You got your prescription on the 3rd so it will be available for refill on the 18th.
I have 180 pills of 50mg Tramadol. I take one every 6hrs. But I have to take them during the night as well. I'm running low... When can I call in my refill?
