Topzole. Heart Burn. Iron Deficiency. Vitamin B12.

I have been using Ferrimed for a long time, but my iron and blood deficiency became worse. I am always very tired, sleepy and listless. A specialist physician said I most probably have bleeding ulcers due to too much stomach acid. I repeatedly told him that I have NEVER had heart burn or acid reflux my whole life. I did not feel any pain whatsoever when he examined my stomach, etc. He admitted me to the hospital, where his rooms are, to have upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies. I gave thát doctor, beforehand, the same information that I gave the physician. Again I felt no pain when he examined my stomach, etc. Afterwards the procedures, he told my that I have bleeding ulcers. I never saw any "pictures" of the ulcers, and when I asked the rooms of both doctors, they said they don't take pictures of the procedures.

1) Is this the "normal" way to do this?

The physician prescribed Topzole 40mg to be taken for SIX MONTHS, early in the morning, on a completely (at least 6 hours without food) empty stomach. It must be swallowed with only 2 or 3 sips of water. I must wait for at least 30 minutes before I eat or drink anything. I went back to him after six months, as he told me. He prescribed Topzole 40mg for another 6 months. After using it for 11 months, I had my blood tested again, and the results were worse than before. I decided to stop taking Topzole.

This is why I am writing to you: After 1 day I started getting heart burn. I have it 24 hours a day and it is getting worse. I cut out all kinds of food that can possibly cause it, but it does not go away. I don't like spicy or rich food, and NEVER drink coffee or alcohol and never smoked. Both the doctors were aware that I take 7 kinds of (chronic) medication - 11 tablets/capsules per day. While I was in hospital, the physician had a specialist test the working of my kidneys. They found that there was a problem. The results were known by the physician when he prescribed Topzole. They did not test for Helicobacter pylori. I thought I had no side effects while taking Topzole, but read some of the answers above, and realize that it probably caused me to lose control over my bladder. It is very bad.

2. Will this go away?

I am now also very concerned about hip fractures when I read about it in one of the answers above.

3) Will this possibility go away now that I have stopped drinking Topzole?

4) Are there any test to determine if Topzole had an effect on my hip bones?

5) Can this be reversed?

I now also realize that my sleepiness was partly caused by Topzole.

For the last 2 months I have been drinking spatone as an iron supplement. I am also taking a good B12 pill (under my tongue) every. One without the "bad" component of the 3. I started to take both while still on Topzole. For iron to be absorbed into the bloodstream, some people need more B12. Anti-acids prevent B12 from being absorb. Now that I have severe heart burn, this can be a big problem. Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to increased levels of serum methylmalonic acid.

6) Can this acid cause ulcers? (If I even have ulcers.)

Vitamin B12 are necessary for red blood cell production. This is becoming a catch 22 situation and a big problem. I have been constantly tired and sleepy for many years now. Listless and do not get to do anything. That is the reason why I had all these tests done. And I now realize that it all was in vain. Plus I now have hart burn on top of it all.

Here is my main question:
7) What should I do?
8) Go for a Helicobacter pylori test?
9) And what else?

I really do not want to or must not go back on Topzole.
