Topamax (and Others) In A Five-panel Drug Test - Help Please

I just had a pre-employment drug test and prior to it I told them flat out that I am prescribed meds that would raise eyebrows because they would show up on the results as positive. I am on Topamax, Klonopin, Adderall, weaning off of Phentermine, Geodon, Lamictal, Trazodone, and a nasal inhaler for thinning mucus. I was researching online which I know is a big no-no due to mixed information, but figured I'd post here anyway. I hear that Topamax can come out as a false positive for THC!!! Even Lamictal can come out positive too. Does anyone have any knowledge about what meds I'm on and what I should expect? P.S. After I took the test, I went to my potential employer and told him that the lab lady didn't care about me being on anything and it was between my future employer and me. He offered to get in contact with HR and give them the heads up as to what my results might yield. Isn't it generally acceptable to be on prescribed meds, taken correctly and still get a job? This can't be their first time dealing with this sort of thing. And, the clincher is that I will (???) be working in a pharmacy! Later today, I am bringing in a letter from my psychiatrist listing all the meds he prescribes me so I look solid. Think that will help? Any and all advice is welcome. Sorry so long. Much appreciated.

Reading your post sounds like I wrote it! You are on basically all the meds I'm on and had the same worries about the drug screen as you. In addition, it was for a pharm tech position. I told my potential employer prior to the test though that they may see some prescribed meds that may come up in my results. I stupidly told them what they were - Adderall and Klonopin at the time although you never know what will register and I was on Lamiictal, Phentermine, Topomax, and Tradadone. I also didn't want them to think that I was on their entire stock of meds either! It is and it isn't any of their business. They just need a heads up and a note. The i*****s that hired me asked for my pharmacy's phone to call and make sure. Now everyone with half a brain knows that any pharmacy is not going to tell a third party what I'm on! HIPPA, hello! After they didn't get anywhere with that, they told me more... that the only area that sent them a signal was the amphetamine category and they wanted four pictures from my phone send to their company email. What a screwy way of doing business. I learned a lot through this dilemma. Don't open your mouth too much or too early. Don't feel guilty for what you're on and determine your boundaries. Sounds like you did a good job. I was desperate for the job, so that's why I was a bit of a push-over throughout the process and I won't do that again. I hope you got the job if that's what you wanted. Now, I still have to take that certification test...
