I went to a urgent care to get a prescription for penicillin for a tooth infection my left side of my face has swelled up so I went in he prescribed me amox-clav 875 until I can see my dentist but by my tooth being infected the dentist can’t pull it until the swelling goes down, but it’s been 3 days & the swelling is still here but the pain has went down some, last time this happened the doctor gave me amoxicillin and my swelling went down the next day, do I need a different penicillin pill I need help

It's usually the active infection that prevents them from pulling it, not the swelling, since when the infection is active and in its prime, they can't numb it properly to pull it.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

If there has been no improvement, yet, yes there is a chance you might need to try a different antibiotic. Have you consulted your dentist, yet?
