I took a half a valium 10mg 15 days ago, is it still working in my body?

From what I could gather, "the reported half-life of diazepam is listed at 43 hours (give or take 13 hours), but actually has a range as broad as 40-100 hours if you include the contribution from active metabolites; whereas Diazepam is metabolized into nordiazepam with an estimated half-life of 40-99 hours."

Given such a long half-life, lets just use 48 hours (or 2 days) as an example half-life for determining how long 10mgs will remain active in your body.

On day 1: say you took 10mgs
On day 3 (or 2 days later): 5mgs will be left
On day 5: 2.5mgs will be left
On day 7: 1.75mgs will be left
On day 9: 0.875mgs will be left

And if you only took half of this amount, then I'd imagine by day 15 you'd be far into the decimals (as far as calculations go) to where there probably wouldn't be enough left in your body to actually say that it's still working.

I take valium for muscle spasms and to help me sleep (pain related). I also take Percocet (oxycodone/acetaminophen) 10-325mg about every 4 hours for pain. I'm mentioning this because although I take those regularly I don't always take the valium (I get the generic from Target- my last refill was split between 2 manufacturers. Qualitest- V on one side and 2683 on the other. Teva- 3926 on one side and Teva on the other. So far they all work equally. I ended up on them because I was originally taking Soma and it wasn't helping much and was giving me nightmares and had been given Valium prior to spinal inj's. and noticed that my muscle spasms were gone so my doctor switched out the Soma for Valium. I've been taking them over a year and haven't had any adverse reactions. I don't ever have a feeling that they're remaining in my body, but again I've been taking them for awhile on a random basis in addition to other meds. If you're on something and you're not comfortable you really need to discuss this with your doctor. Its important to find something that is effective but allows you to go about your normal routine more successfully than without.
