Took A Sprintec Pill Early

So I took an active pill one morning and I threw it up. I immediately take the next days pill. Will this throw off my cycle? Should I use protection until my next period?

Hi Kit Kat,

In many cases when you "miss a pill", I often see instructions stating that patients should take the next one "as soon as they remember", and then sticking with that new schedule to keep your hormones from fluctuating too much. This is what my fiancé does when she forgets to take hers... but I imagine that the protocols for missing a pill wouldn't be any different than if you were to throw one up and then take the next day's tablet instead (being that it's the same thing). So in this scenario I don't see why you'd even have to worry about not being protected since you're still taking your contraceptive. However it seems to me like it may be a good idea to give your doctor/gynecologist a quick call if you have any concerns about running out of your script a day early as a result of taking the following day's pill.
