In most cases no, you shouldn't try to add more of your medication, even half a tablet, because most of these medications don't work that fast, so it won't do anything to help in the period of time, before you'd see your doctor, anyway.

In addition, whether or not your BP is considered high, or going high again will also depend on other factors, such as the time of day you checked it, your stress levels, what you had eaten, where you recently active and etc.
Your doctor will usually base their assessment on several readings, not just one.
It is completely normal for your BP to fluctuate throughout the day, so the reading can vary depending on the time you're checking and you may find big fluctuations in readings taken as little as 10 minutes apart.
Therefore, you should never panic and adjust, or add a medication on your own. You should always wait for your doctor, unless your readings are severely high, such as 200/120 for example, in which case you should go to your nearest emergency treatment facility.
