Sorry to hear about your situation. I believe you've come to the right site for support and know that compassionate/understanding doctors do exist even if they may seem few & far between. Please don't give up hope in your search, if this is truly the path you wish to take. No one is too old to receive proper care. Just because we cross a certain age line, doesn't mean our problems magically go away. If anything, that doctor should be fired for misleading you down that path only to have the rug unexpectedly pulled from under your feet. If you need help locating another physician, you can typically google "doctors in [insert city, state]" and investigate your options from there. I've had some success with that approach in the past...albeit, trial and error under different doctors over time seems unavoidable.
Have you looked into trying any alternative treatment options in the meantime?
