Tizanidine 8mg Taper Schedule?

What is a good taper schedule after taking Tizanidine 8 MG every night for 6 years?

Hi Missy,

Due to the length of time you've been taking this drug, it's hard to say what method might work best for you. I can only offer my opinion, but think it could just come down to making a decision based on trial and error, if you reduce the dosage by a little too much or not enough (every few weeks).

If it were me in your shoes, I would try cutting the pills into halves or fractions if necessary. Then consistently take that divided dose for a period of several weeks and taper down that way. Your body should tell you instinctively if the divided dose is suitable or if you need to wait longer before tapering down again.

Just remember that even if it takes you months to a year or longer to taper, that every divided dose (no matter how miniscule) is a step forward.
