found very tiny red pill with the number 44 printed on one side, the other side is blank. any ideas what this might be?

This is Pseudoephedrine 30mgs, a generic or store brand of Sudafed to treat congestion.

It's an over the counter medication. You might want to consider a drug abuse intervention. ;)
