I was diagnosed with insulin resistant & my blood sugar was borderline. Doctor wrote a prescription of Glycomet 500 which contains the active ingredient Metformin.. He explained me when & how to take but maybe I didn't paid attention due to some reasons so I forgot what he told me and now he is not available on phone and he went to usa for 2 months... All I know and is that it is written in prescription that I have to take one in morning and one in evening after meals... But I have breakfast in morning and first meal in afternoon probably between 1 to 2 pm and in evening dinner between 7 to 8 pm Now I am confused when and how to take it...exactly what time I will have to take it, > Do I have to take it Soon after meal? OR > I have to wait for half to one hour after meal & then take it? OR > two hours after meal? I seriously forgot, pls tell me exactly when and how to take it and like hypothyroid medicine is there any rules not to eat or drink anything for one two hours after taking it? I tried to google about it but on internet there is no information available regarding this.. HELP ME pls as I will have to start this medicine from tomarrow onwards

When is the best time of day for taking glycomet gp1? In between breakfast, lunch and dinner? I eat breakfast during 8 to 9 am, lunch during 1:30 to 2:30 in the afternoon, a refreshment around 4 pm and dinner during 7:30 to 8:30 pm.
Can glycomet be stopped if blood sugars are normal after taking glycomet
Are you sure it says to take it after your means?
The is an oral antidiabetic medication, so the usual instructions are to take it just before a meal, so it starts to kick in, by the time you are done eating, to help control the changes in blood sugar that will occur from food.
And it would normally be one tablet just before breakfast and one tablet just before dinner.

If you are certain he said to take it after your meals, then you may want to check with your pharmacist/chemist, though I'd think you'd need to take it immediately after eating.
As to food, what you eat can affect your blood sugar levels, so you need to stick with low sugar and low fat foods.
