Hi guys: I was just put on 10 mg Lisinopril for a reading of 150/77. I got scared. Took 1st dose today on 5/1/17. When should I feel better? Need your moral support. Peter

1-2 hours normally to see drop start with max drop in 6 hours.

just called my pharmacy to let them know that I had accidently take 2 - 20 gm pills of lisinopril instead of 1. I was told that I might feel a little light heated or have some dizziness tomorrow, but over all I should be okay

Hi Jen -- I just began my first prescription today, about 20 minutes ago. Blood pressure is 160 over 98, and prescription is for 20 mg.

I have read numerous reviews on this drug, mostly bad. Today will be my 2nd day on it. My BP was 180/98. Should I be scared and call my doc to see if I can be put on another med?

I take 5MG of Lisinopril at night before I got to bed. My doc said, "Since the max effecincy of the pill hits six hours after you take it, its better to take at night 1-2 hours before you go to bed. The reasoning was: You blood pressure can spilke at night during your dreams. During the day, you are awake an able to coup with social and work stress easier than when you are dreaming and not aware of what's real or not." Also, he pointed out that more people have strokes and heart attackes when sleeping, therefore you want your best coverage of the drug while you are at most risk --> SLEEPING....
As for switching from morning to evenings, I'd simply skipped my 9am dose and took it at noon day 1, then 6pm day two and then 9pm day three. But, you should ask your doctor.

I take lisinopril and amlodiprine for blood pressure. I ran out of lisinopril over new years and just got my script today. sdix days without. will this make my blood pressure go up. I still took the amlodipine

I was told by an ER Doc and a my blood doctor that I could take lisinopril on an as needed basis have you ever known of this. My blood pressure gets high while menstruating and a few days after but the rest of the time my bp is normal

According to drug information from Gold Standard Inc. 2011, Lisinopril starts working within an hour of taking it by mouth. The peak effect occurs at 6 hours after taking the pill.
Other patients state that it should make a difference to your blood pressure in about 2 days time, based on their personal experience. Although I'm sure it may be somewhat different for everyone.
