I have been on Levothyroxin for 6 weeks, I have an underactive Thyroid. I have been taking the medication about 4-5am and go back to bed. I'm up at 7am and by 9am I'm so dizzy( weird dizzy feeling/hard to explain, can't focus, so tired, blurred vision). I have to lay down and sleep. By 4-5pm the dizziness is better(NOT gone completely) and I feel like I'm flushed, like i'm coming off a bad flu.....then it starts ALL over again the next day. I decided to try to take it at night about hour after eating(about 7pm) ...so dizzy in the night and by 7am still dizzy. By about 12-1pm I start feeling a little better. Wondering if this is all side effects? or is my dose TOO low(only on 23mg). SO Frustrating...see Neurologist and Dr. this week ## That is very unusual and not typ...
I was taking 120mg once a day of the Armour thyroid, then I had to get a mail order RX so when it came in the mail today the bottle said 2GR.. I thought 2gr was equevilent to like 2000mg??? So I was just wondering before I took my meds if the GR-mg were correct? Thanks for your help. J ## Yes, your understanding of the conversion is correct. However, the best way to get a definitive answer would be to have more information on the tablets, so I can look them up for you. Are there any markings on them? Is there a manufacturer listed? hello Doctor...my daughter is 3 years old and is under thyronorm medication since birth (congenital hypothyroidism). She takes 62.5 mcg of thyronorm every morning regularly. This morning she just chewed about 10-12 additional 50mcg tablets in a flash before we could realise. We immediately made her vomit things and took her to a nearby hospital who also sent a tube through her noose and cleaned her stomach. But the doctor has asked us to be at the hospital for a 24hr observation. We are worried, so looking to your suggestion on anything else we need to do. ## I am not a doctor, but keeping her at the hospital as they have instructed was likely the best idea. That way, if something happens, there is a medical team ready and waiting to help her. Learn more Thyronorm details here. How did t...
I took PTU for 8 years but not continuesly. I did not consult/return to my doctor for further check-up. I hope that I did not get too much side effect using this medicine. Thanks for this site, I stopped taking it when I read some comments and side effects.

I have been taking Levothyroxine for many years. I was at 50, then after a few years I moved to 75 and then to 88. Now, after a few years at 88, my doctor says I am tkaing too much and should lower to 75. Is this normal? ## While I'm not familiar with any documented cases of an acquired tolerance to thyroid replacement therapy, I do think that if you are taking a lot of it, your doctor probably just wants to see if a lesser amount would get the job done just as efficiently as the higher dose would (if in fact it was being taken in excess amounts). I would think this is normal of doctors to take this kind of action in situations where no one is completely sure of what an ideal dosage would be. If you honestly feel fine taking that dose, then by all means I would go with whatever your...
oval, beige, pill, GG337 ## ive been taking levothyroxine for 3 months and i was drinking water regular now ive been taking thyroxine sodium and i cant get enough water please explain the differences thank you derrek ## There aren't really any severe differences, they are both thyroid hormones, given to supplement those are are deficient. However, your body can react differently to differenct medications, so while on one medication you may not experience a lot of side effects, but a switch to a new drug, even in the same class, might result in more severe side effects. Is you continue to experience problems, you should probably consult your doctor, this may not be the right medication for you. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I have been on levothyroxine 16 years. I have...
I need to know how long after taking levothyroxine in the morning I need to wait BEFORE taking my omeprazole, caffeine, clonazepam, gabapentin, deplin and propranolol? (I know to wait one-half to one hour before taking any FOOD.) ## Hi Suzie, This is just my theory, but I think timing just depends on which medications interact with each other and which ones don't. Based on my research, propranolol interacts with both clonazepam and levothyroxine, and clonazepam interacts with omeprazole. So taking any of these together does present a risk factor. The interaction between propranolol and clonazepam states the following: "MONITOR: Many psychotherapeutic and CNS-active agents (e.g., anxiolytics, sedatives, hypnotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, opioids, alcohol, muscle relaxant...
I was prescribed Daflonex SR 90MG supposedly to help with circulation. I have no idea as to what type of med. this is, only get very limited info which indicates that the Daflonex is a dietary supplement. I would really like to get some clear info re: the Daflonex & whether or not, it would interact with any of the other meds I'm currently taking. ## Daflonex SR contains Hesperidin, which is a supplement that is claimed to help with various health issues, including circulation, but it hasn't actually been proven to help with anything.
