I am taking thyronorm 50 since 1 yrs after my first report but after that my report was normal and i am still taking that medicine so i would like to know that should i continue this medicine or not ? ## Hello, Neha! I'm unsure of who to believe. I still hear that the generic is not as effective as the brand and I have heard this from some very prominent, famous physicians, however, my pharmacy says that it is the same. What is the real answer? I'm sticking to brand until I hear better. ## I personally have problems with some generics that don't work the same as name brands. I can't trust generic coumadin for instance to be consistant in its strength,My wife has the same problem with generic BC pills, some work O.K. others don't. even though they say they are the same formulary. So in answer to your questions I believe it depends on the individual. ## I tried the generic and it did not work for me. My daughter-in-law tried it and really got messed up with it. I suffer from hypothyroidism and have been on 50 MCG of levothyroxine and vitamin D3 5000 daily and I have had sore and tender throat and uncomfortable to touch. It feels like my throat is closing. On the fourth day I had a severe itching or like a nat biteing me all over my body but no rash. could this have been caused from suddenly stopping the medication? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? I had my thyroid completely removed in February 2016. My TSH levels skyrocketed post surgery so I am consequently on .4mg of Levothyroxine daily. I don't feel very well nowadays - low energy, achy, etc. I would like to stop taking it. Is it safe to quit? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. A lost of your symptoms are most likely due to not having a thyroid, anymore and are likely to get worse, if you stop taking your medication. When is the last time your levels were checked? Hi, i got tonsillitis so im on calvepen 666mg tablets. Is it ok to use them if i have a thyroid disorder? ## Hello, Remis! How are you? This is an antibiotic that is used to eradicate infectious bacteria, so yes, you can take it, as long as you aren't allergic to it and your doctor has instructed you to do so. As a matter of fact, you would be in far more danger, if you let an infection continue out of control, because that could be life threatening, so taking it would be the better option. The U.S. FDA lists its side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, I am to start a low dose of Levothyroxine 0.025MG in the morning. I usually have my protein shake in the morning. I know I should not eat for 30 mins to an hour after drinking a glass of water with this medication. I read somewhere that this medication should not be taken with weight loss products. Not sure if I can still drink the shake and if I just have to wait awhile and how long? I know it has been said not to take this medication with lots of vitamins. Can anyone help me that might be a doctor or someone that has had the question before? Thanks. ## I have had similar questions, before and unless it is just plain water, you should still wait a half an hour, before taking in anything else, including your protein shake. Otherwise, there may be components in it that could affec...

I was initially diagnosed with an under active thyroid and prescribed 25 mg tlevothyroxine, after sleeping most of the day and night it was eventually increased to 100mg.. 3 months ago I developed severe insomnia, different levels of consciousness making walking difficult, muscle weakness, severe heat and cold intolerance, rapid weight gain severe constipation and other symptoms also. Things came to a head 3 weeks ago and I stopped taking the drug altogether/ In the first week my strength came back in my muscles, I began to sleep again and my consciousness was much heightened. But then I slowly went downhill. On day 13 my voice almost disappeared, my neck muscles had tightened making swallowing very difficult and walking was very bad. I filled a prescription for Levothyroxine Sodium 75mcg from Combitic Global, but these look nothing like the American version. They have no markings but the outside blister packs do say levothyroxine sodium 75 and give manufacturing dates etc. They don't look like synthroid. It's a little concerning since I take drug panels and don't want to take something illegal and certainly don't want to know I wasted my time on something dangerous or completely useless. They are round and rounded in the middle and yellow. I haven't taken them yet. Anyone have any experience with these?

which antibiotic is most compatible with cinacalset, previously had amoxicillin which upset. ## What type of upset did it cause? It seems your sentence was cut off. As reported by the U.S. FDA, typical antibiotic side effects can include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Can you please post back and be more specific, so I can help you? Thanks! ## Hi Yes as far as understood my mum became lethargic and symptoms of overactive parathyroid which cinicalcet is controlling, so we felt maybe antibiotic upset effectiveness or her bodys tolerance to maintain effective control of the condition. thanks for your response.

I have been taking this for yeas, suddenly, I've developed a rash that comes and goes, and wonder id\f anyone else has had this problem.....my doctor has prescribed prednisone, but I think my dosage is to high....help ## Hello, Harvey! How are you? Skin rash can be a side effect of this medication, but it is a normal one and doesn't necessarily mean that your dosage is too high, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, weight changes and hair loss. When were your levels last checked? Your dosage should be dependent on them.
