This New Op Oxycontin Formula Works Well For Me

I am not a big fan of the formula change but find the op oxycontin to still work on my chronic pain. The main thing I notice is Ill get only 8 hours of relief where the older formula had lasted longer and stronger. This new formula also takes 45 minutes to get going even on empty stomach. but it does work on the pain once it kicks in. im waiting now as i just took my oxycontin about 14 minutes ago and beginning to lose my vision(thats the first sign for me is i get tunnel vision and itching) but just saying, i was on oc formula 12 years and been on this formula 2 months so i dont like it alot but as im getting used to the pills and how they work best, etc, ive learned to still prefer oxycodone over dilaudid for my pain...period. dilaudid is weird, it takes a while to come on and makes me feel dopey all day and the oxycontin is cleaner and better pain reliever...prolly why its so darn expensive. until i get better insurance, i have to try to stay at my current dosage due to the cost of raising the milligram so goes up the price. anyways, for me oxycodone works best for pain and makes me not feel dopey...just good, period

I have been on Hydrocodone APAP 5/325's for over 6 years and am just starting with OxyContin 10's
I need round the clock pain coverage and am finding the OxyContin to be adequate enough.
I was taking anywhere from 2 to 4 of the Hydrocodones per day & didn't want to increase dosage because that was way enough to make me sort of out of it on occasion anyway.
My doctor thought that it would be a good idea to go to something longer-lasting such as sustained-release Oxycodone (OxyContin) and I am so far pleased. Works as I had hoped.
I have seen OxyContin getting a lot of bad rap on the Internet and I was a bit apprehensive about using it but I can say, I don't have any complaints!
I really can't say that it is as powerful as the Vicodin I was taking but, milligram per milligram, it seems to be working to control my pain well enough that I can have some quality of life :)
I have had a rough life, and I have broken 28 bones so far (motorcycles and Rodeo) and this stuff is a godsend to me!
I am glad that it's working for you.
However, since it takes so long to kick in, have you looked into getting some in an instant release or regular release formulation, such as OxyIR, or Roxicodone, to help get control of your pain while the Oxycontin kicks in?

They are both available as a generic and aren't too expensive, if you're only buying a small quantity to have on hand for as needed usage.
