Things To Be Aware Of Before Taking Oxycodone 5-325

Following Rotary Cuff surgery, my husband was given Oxycodone 5-325. Some of the things he experienced were nausea, vomiting and heartburn, in addition to extreme constipation. After drinking massive amounts of water, suffering, discomfort, etc., it took a Linzess capsule, and two large doses of Milk of Magnesia before he finally was able empty his bowels the next morning following extreme discomfort. I was prepared to have to go back to the hospital, but THANK THE LORD, he finally got relief. The on call person allowed us to change to Hydrocodone 7-325; he had taken a few of those until the cortisone shot took effect while being scheduled for surgery. He did not experience a problem with the Hydrocodone, even though I’m sure it can be bad as well. He has not had a pain pill of any kind for 10 hrs now. JUST BEWARE!!!

Hello, Jan! How is your husband doing? I am very sorry about what he experienced.

However, those are normal side effects for narcotic analgesics, according to the FDA and they could happen with the Hydrocodone, as well as the Oxycodone. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache, and drowsiness.
