Teva's New Oxycontin 80mg Pill (Top voted first)
UpdatedSo I've been keeping my eyes open for the new oxycontin generic to come out since Purdue lost it's patent. But for the longest time nothing emerged, no company was coming forward with a oxycontin substitute. I just saw that Teva brand has made a Oxycontin generic FINALLY. But I can't confirm a couple of things. First is how long has this generic been available? 2nd is I'm getting conflicting info on if they only make the 80mg pill or I'm seeing they make the 10mg, 20mg, 40mg and 80mg (NO 30's and NO 60's)!! And of course the other question, how much does this generic cost? Are they gonna charge a crazy amount of money or are they actually going to be affordable?? Has anyone out there tried these yet? If so how do they compare to the the old school original OC'S or how to they compare the the OP'S from Purdue?? I do have insurance but my company is so cheap I doubt they'll cover this for me!! Any and all answers are helpful. Thank you.

Yes they make it in an ER including 30 & 60 so even if Doctor wants to order none Er which most won’t. It is still around. I only know because I am allergic to a lot of stuff. I don’t like the one you mentioned because it is a killer on the stomach. I wish someone would figure out a binder for generic opana Er because I never had issue with it. That is also still around as a generic but not Er due to this lovely virus.
Re: Tiredofpain (# 1)
Thanx for the reply, just a few things to ask. So you did try this new Teva brand? Was it any good? Was it expensive? I'm only asking because I was taking the generic oxymorphone 30mg made by impact global but my mom and pop spot was having a hard time getting it(and the could normally ALWAYS get it) on top off that they were charging me 600.00 for 50 of them OUTRAGEOUS!!!I couldn't afford that anymore so I was gonna switch to oxycontin but he said that's just as expensive so my ONLY other choice was the morphabond or MS CONTIN 30 3mg and 30 60mg ER I never did like morphine it doesn't do anything for my pain. And all this new age crap is just that crap I'm talking about the Xztampza, Hyslinga Tramadol all suck. So were not left with much else to help us people in pain. I'd appreciate your answers to my new questions thank you in advance
I was taking the generic 10 mg last year. Oddly my insurance would only cover name brand, but the pharmacy didn’t believe me so they filled the generics once (Medicare sometimes covers one month so you’re not left with nothing.)
Anyway, I remember the portion they paid was small. The plastic pills suck as badly as the name brand though.
Re: Rawdog (# 5)
I don’t remember if I got Tevas.
They were like $20 if I remember right.
Re: TiredofbeinginPain (# 6)
Wow where do you live? 80mg. I've been dropped from 180 mg of morphine ER and IR to 60mg a day just because.
Re: jenitive (# 9)
What do you mean WOW 80mg?? I'm not wanting the 80mg shoot my doc probably wouldn't even write me for 2 60's a day. I found out they do make the 60mg.
And yet still no one has answered my questions
Re: Rawdog (# 10)
I believe my reply was to a other person. More sarcasm than criticism, cause everyone is being cut down or off "" just because ". Not trying to be rude, ok.
I was getting generic 10 mg from Rite Aid last year. They sucked, but I thought the OPs sucked too.
So I asked my pharmacist if they could order these for me. I gave her the NDC numbers for the 30mg,40mg and 60mg. I came back a week later and she said she can't get them their on back order and then she said their expensive she didn't say how much. And I didn't press the issue even tho I have insurance I'm sure it would be pricey just not as pricey as she thought.
Nobody answered my question as far as if anyone has tried this brand I find that odd. I'd just like to know if these are worth digging around to find them or am I wasting my time? If anyone has any info please post back THANK YOU
Re: Optimistic (# 3)
Yea the OP's were not that good but you think this Teva brand was worse or better or the same? And how expensive were they??
Re: Rawdog (# 2)
Sorry for late reply. I am on 80mg ER OxyContin to replace Opana ER. I am not sure of cost because I have insurance but you can look on good RX for a cheaper price through Walmart. I had an issue when switching with eight loss for the first 2 months & then slowly started to gain it back. I have no issues with the OxyContin ER except for that however stomach wise I prefer the opana Er I think it worked longer other than that no issues.
