Teva Amoxicillin What Does It Treat

I have a brand new prescription of teva-amoxicillin. I had a gum infection - within two pills the pain was gone and I have this bottle full.. I now have a temperature with which I believe is due to a chest infection. Will this medication help?

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, which can be used to treat many different type of infections.

However, you should finish the full course of the medication, as prescribed, even if you start to feel better, before you have finished. The pain may have went away, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the infection cleared up. Thus, you could be sick now, because it was never fully treated and has now spread to other parts of your body.

In addition, only taking part of the prescription for an antibiotic creates the very real risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

This will also only treat infections, so it your fever is caused by something else, such as a cold or flu, it will not help with that.

lost my voice 4 days ago, dr at hospital said it is laringitis and gave me TEVA-AMOXICILLIN 500MG. My family dr said not to take it, antibiotics don't cure larigiritis. what is the best adivice for my condicion. I do have sines pain and headeche. thanks

Went to a walk in clinic, it seemed really obvious I have an allergic reaction , in a few hrs I had red dots and rashes all over my body spreading around my veins. not sure the cause... the doctor gave me Teva Amoxcillin... ?? Does this thing have anything to do with allergic reaction???

I was subscribe teva amoxin 500 for sinuse and chest lung but mainly for my ears which one blew the ear drum its only bin two days but i feel no change liquid clear and yellow with blood drainage from ear on and off fever something doesn't seem right

Yes, It will. I have or had a bad chest( very bad ) infection. I was told to take 1 a day ( 250 mg ) for 4 days. As this med works for 10 days. As per my private Dr.

Hey people. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It 'works' for INFECTIONS. It is not a pain medicine. It is not an anti-histamine. It is an ANTIBIOTIC.

It's hard to imagine how people can be so very uninformed, or just misinformed.

Nothing else. Infections only. It fights bacteria -- not pain, or allergic reactions.

It appears (by the comments here) that some doctors don't even know what the hell it is that they're doing. Please, if you've been prescribed Amoxicillin for anything but an infection, find a new doctor, for your own sake. Have a wonderful life. :)

Amoxicillin is only for an infection. Caused by cold/flu, a tooth surgery/toothache, healing of a surgical incision made during surgery taken to prevent bacteria from infecting to open incision the doctors made. Taken 1 or 2 x's daily take w/ water not w/ meals.

Walk in clinics give amoxicillin out like tic tacs. I would go to your main physician.

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. PAIN treatment requires PAIN receptor intervention. NO, Amoxicillin WILL NOT RELIEVE your neck pain.

No only sulfur antibiotics work for urinary. Amxoil is not sulphuric

Depends on the STI, however, most are untreatable. You need to contact a doctor and discuss a treatment plan if there is one.
