Tension Headaches? Need Help
UpdatedI have been getting these headaches averaging about 4 or 5 days a week for about 3 years. It feels like my actual forehead is numb, that is the best way I can think of to describe it, and it feels kind of tight. I looked up my symptoms online and the word Tension Headache kept popping up. Is it truly one? I had a CAT Scan done last month and it showed nothing is wrong. My doctor put me on Imitrax and it did absolutely nothing. I take so many Advil and Tylenol, it is ridiculous. I have an appointment with a neurologist in 3 weeks, but I am just dreading that he is gonna run tests like an MRI, then he will have to look at the results and then I have to make another appointment and that could take like another 3 weeks, so I could be looking at 6 more weeks until I find out what is going on. It is not my eyes, I had them checked out and I have 20/20 vision, and it is not my sinuses. I am afraid they are gonna say it is stress and that I need to just relax. I am already on Klonopin (have been for like 4 years) I take 4 a day and I am at the point where the Klonopin doesnt even work anymore. I'm afraid the doctor is gonna see I an on Klonopin and then wont medicate me. I am not drug seeking, but I have been putting up with this hell for over 3 years. I have trouble sleeping, eating and functioning normally. So if anyone has any advice such as if they think it might not be a Tension Headache, or for people who have them can they share there experience with there doctors? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!!

It can be hard to get proper treatment for any type of pain from a lot of doctors, especially if the tests you have had so far do not show any problems and they have been giving you medications and you're repeatedly saying they aren't working.
It's kind of like a double edged sword.
Have you tried any of the other medications that are made just for migraines and tension headaches, such as Excedrin Migraine?
I've usually found that they work much better than just Tylenol or Advil.
These formulas usually contain Acetaminophen, Aspirin and Caffeine:

It can also be important to try to keep track of anything that may trigger your headaches.
Whether it be stress or something you eat, as then you will know what triggers to avoid.
Have you noticed anything in particular that seems to set them off?
so u guys think the eyes can lead to big headaches at the back of the head on top of the neck? cus sometimes i forget to take off my contacts at night and maybe thats why i have this ugly headaches
I have suffered with this. You have an issue with a nerve(s). Tell the neurologist you want to try an occipital nerve block. You will be back to 100% in 24 hours
