Taper Down & Off!
UpdatedI can only share my experience but I will stick to the facts: If you want off of these life/joy killers.
1)they claim 12hour time released med. NO TRUE OF OXICONTIN 40mg, i could only enjoy my life in 7 hour increments, sometimes 8 rarely but 9 max if you don't mind feeling like crap for a couple hours
This is not anything new, Doctors know it pharmacists know it, most of all, your insurance co. Knows it & they don't want to fill it or pay for it. If you are considering use of this med to fight of chronic
I pain this med does the job. I took my time & reaserchd prior to, accepting the knowledge of Chem dependency but the pain outwade the decision. Hindsite, you will spend day after day making sure, everyone dots I's & crosses T's, it's rare that a simple Rx from a Doctor, pharmacy's will lie right to your face, insurance company's claim to cover it, & then change their rules & regulations. It took 3 months of advocating for myself within "Uniteds" "neighborhood plan" I choose them because they covered it, I even have it in writing. The very day before i was headed to the Islands on vacation, United Health care overnited me a bottle Opana...so stupid! The Last I knew insurance co. We're not Pain specialists. This is longer than I thought I would be writeing. I never took (ingested) the opana, as mentioned, 3mths & minimally A hundred calls. I started my own early taper down,the in the first week of that 3rd month. I had limited resources ie: pills, some ER's & some leftovers from weaning up. I used a calander, counted the pills of 40's 20's & 10'smg at times I had to take to 10's to mk 20mg. I am now free of them. If anyone is wondering how I did it First I give God the glory! & He gave me the strength. As I went down, I often had to count the minutes many times in tears & feeling crazy, out of my mind! We (God & Me) He took my hand & walked me through the acute withdrawals. My taper was a month & a few days. My Doctor although impressed with my success of taper, smiled & said this is unconventional & way to fast. Lol who the heck wants to detox on vacation, my only comment to my Doc. Was simply....". my life cannot be chasing down medicines pre-auths and appeals. I'm not suggesting any one do it the way I did, but heck a rough month beats another 4 months not noing what Opana would do to me. If by chance you attempt this, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CHART OR calander near by cross of each dose, your thinking will b a mess but a highlighter on a chart, the moment a dose is taken. OR YOU WILL MESS IT UP, lol mk the chart prior to starting.
If you have 7 days within a full month. U can get rid of this bondage. Pray Pray Pray!
