Now I eat less and now my blood sugar is higher. It used to be 140 to 180, now it is 186 to 235 which I have never been this high, so what is the deal? How long do you have to be on it for it to start working? OR maybe it does not work on me. ## Hi Gary, Sorry to hear about the medication not working. From your description I get the sense that it might just be a good idea to ask your doctor about trying something else altogether. Even though Tanzeum (albiglutide) is meant to be used 'along with diet and exercise', a week in without any sort of improvement is a little nerve racking i...
49 REPLIES UpdatedAnyone have any severe side effects? ## Hello, Rich! How are you? What types of side effects are you experiencing? The most common ones are listed as diarrhea, nausea and administration site reaction. Has anyone else used this? ## The only side effects I have gotten from Tanzeum are nausea, diarrhea, headaches and acid reflux which is causing me to burp. I am on 30mg once a week with 2000mg of metformin a day. It has been a month for me and it is not fun. My hopes are that my body will get use to the meds so the side effects will stop. I notice a HUGE difference and I think this out ways the side effects. I have lost 5lbs without exercise in 1 month. The meds curb your appetite and I have to force myself to eat because of the metformin. My blood sugar went from 200-300 range to now 95-1...
16 REPLIES Updatedi just started tanzeum and my numbers are just a little too low for me around 95-105 AFTER eating so i wondering if i take tanzeum every eight days insteadof every seven could that help me stabilize my numbers just a little better i personally feel better at around 110-120 under that i start to get dizzy even if ive already eaten so please answer this thanks ## Hello, Toni! How are you? It would be best not to change your dosage, without your doctor's approval. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, cold sweats, hypoglycemia, and headache. What dosage are you currently on? ## If you're taking other meds for your sugar they need to be lowered by your doctor. Why you are taking Tanzeum? 102 is a great before meal reading.
2 REPLIES UpdatedI took my second shot 2 days ago. After the first one I had nausea for one day, and small diarrhea. After second day of 2nd shot I am very nauseated, diarrhea, and heart burn or acid reflux. I am still taking janumet 50/1000 twice a day and glimpiride 1/2 mg once a day. He wanted me to drop the janumet after 6 weeks and start on just metformin and then drop the glimpiride if I got any low readings. So far my readings are ok, but not where I want to see them. Fasting ranges from 125-140. I'm wondering if N and D will go away once my body gets used to it? I've done a lot of research on this medication so I am aware of ALL the side effects. I just don't see where anyone says they stay with it long enough to know if these symptoms will subside. ## Hello, Janice! How are you doin...
1 REPLY UpdatedI was pre diabetic and my dr prescribed Tanzeum I took 5 week shots of Tanzeum and did not seam to have problems, I thought! I felt a little tired, my legs were feel weak but didn't think much of it. After the 5th week of shots the next day I starting feel like I had the flu, then I started having a rash, I want to my dr and he gave me a steroid shot. The 3rd day I wasn't any better my rash had spread and I was very weak. I was trying to treat rash as much as I could. The next day I could hardly walk and decided I'd better go to the hospital. At the hospital they took my vital signs my BP was 56/47 my blood sugar was 500. I ended up in ICU for 2 days, my bodily functions were shutting down. Doctors were scratching their heads because they could figure out what was wrong with...
1 REPLY UpdatedAnyone else having persistent back pain, I have been on 30 mg Tanzeum for six weeks the last three weeks have been experiencing back pain and joint paint that has increased intensity, also feelings of dehydration. THINKING ABOUT DISCONTINUING TANZEUM. ## If it's manufactured in India it is poison. All my medications are now manufactured in India. They no longer work. ## Those are listed as possible side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, diarrhea, cough and ear congestion. If the symptoms haven't gone away, or are worsening, you should speak to your doctor as it may not be the right medication for you. Jackie, though they may no longer work for you, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are poison. Have you informe...
