Taking Two Oxycontin 10mg For Additional Pain Relief
UpdatedHi. I'm prescribed 10mg Oxycontin ER and I was wondering if I took two at a time if would release the equivalent of a 20mg dose? My doctor is currently switching me all around with different meds because I seem to be having unsavory side effects with several of the ones he trying. So I'm a guinea pig right now and my pain is crazy. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hello, Kimmy! How are you?
You shouldn't double up without your doctor's approval as it could result in overdose.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
