Taking Subutex And Percocet Together (Page 31)
UpdatedMy doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. I usually take 15 mg percocet at a time. I've read some stuff online that worries me. Some people say if you take percs with subutex you'll go into withdrawals. I went through severe withdrawals with fioricet months ago and I don't want to go through that hell again. I took my first subutex about an hour ago and I still have a migraine so I want to take a perc now. Can I do that or will I get sick?
Re: kkh (# 433)
Once again you are so wrong!! I can't believe you, you think you know everything, and spit out wrong answers like a broken PEZ dispenser!! Valium IS prescribed for muscle spasms and has for years.. I know because I've been on it for 2 decades.. You gotta stop giving out wrong info!!
Re: YouAreWrong (# 479)
Hey genius, what do you think naloxone is? Narcan.. Now quit putting out false information, and YOU got get educated! Geez...
Re: Love (# 598)
Hey, all I want to know to help you with your question is whether you chose to get on suboxone or if your doc put you on it?
Re: Orbokthpore (# 596)
Why don't you stick to your hydro"s and skip the sub? You're talking about several hours, not a week.. Just suck it up! you'll still have it in your system and you won't go through w/d's for 3-5 days, just sayin'
Re: Love (# 598)
Hey Love, I take care of my 79 y.o. Uncle, and I'm real protective of him, and I deal with his doctors when it comes to controlled substances, and yes, the medical community is very reluctant to give him the meds he's used to, so if you need help or just want to ask a question, please ask, I'll be happy to help, regardless of these little Ninja's that are throwing out negative votes when they know absolutely nothing, or they would man up and send me a response.
Re: Ryder (# 601)
Hey Ryder, I know exactly who you're referring to, and I agree 100% with you. I haven't seen that person on here lately, but man, she put people down like she had all the answers..
Re: Ryder (# 601)
You're spot on, and correct. Valium is and has been prescribed for muscle spasms for many years, and I know for a fact that's true..
I’m doing the same thing right now. So if you’ve already got Subutex in your system, the Percocet will not do anything and you won’t feel the effects at all, until about 24+ after your last dose of Subutex. As for the taking Subutex after taking Percocet, I know you can go into precipitated withdrawal with suboxone if you take it too soon with Percocet in your bloodstream, but I still have not found ANY concrete evidence online about Subutex. So I ended up waiting about 12-16 hours after my last dose of Percocet to take the Subutex then just stayed on that for a while, until a few weeks later when I needed to take Percocet, which again, took about 24+ to start working after my last dose of sub. But I haven’t dared take both simultaneously, it’s either/or. Please let me know if you have a different experience as well, or find any other info? If the wait time before taking sub doesn’t need to be as long, that would be helpful to know. I thought that was the whole point of Subutex vs suboxone, Subutex doesn’t have naloxone, but everything I find on the internet is intentionally misleading it seems.
Re: Ryder (# 602)
Yes I saw that post too.. Everyone that is prescribed opiates Has to know what Narcan is nowadays, as if they go to pain management, it's mandatory to get an RX of Narcan nasal spray to have on hand.. So, Narcan and Naloxone? Put two and two together folks.. They're the same drug!!
Re: foreverillkid (# 608)
Not the gospel here, but trying to provide a good response to your question.. On Subutex, wait 12 hours (at least) and you should be able to get the perc in your system, whether or not you get the glow from it, it will help with the pain.. I hope that helps you..

So the little spineless Ninja that keeps putting negative arrows down? Man up, and tell me why I'm wrong, instead of hiding. Make a comment, instead of being a little Carpuka, yes?

Re: Just helping (# 595)
That's correct and you are one of the few people on this site that KNOW WHAT THEY'RE Talking ABOUT. How about learning what's correct people!!!
Re: Love (# 598)
It can be easy. That's why I was asking you hon.
Re: Ryder (# 613)
It doesn’t do anything with Subutex either, both suboxone and Subutex contain buprenorphine which is an an opioid agonist-antagonist, so they both technically block your opioid receptors so you don’t feel the effects, until it’s out of your bloodstream 20-48 hrs (not out of your system which can take up to 8-10 days). The only difference between the two is the naloxone which is mostly to discourage people from shooting it up, and further abuse, as it can make you very sick.
Re: Ryder (# 612)
Hey Ryder, seems as though we have someone that doesn't like anything we say.. The little nymph that's running around giving us the arrow down, what say we find out who and why?
Re: Ryder (# 611)
Getting a lot of them negative arrows Ryder, guess they don't like the responses, eh?
Re: Jack175 (# 616)
G'day Jacko, I see that, we might just have to find the spineless one, yes?
Did you end up going into precipitated withdrawals then? I’m just curious because I’ve been taking perc 10’s the last few days and really want to switch back to subs now, but don’t want to wait the whole 16+ to take, withdrawals are already pretty bad. Did you take the Subutex shoetylu after taking Percocet? I only found medical source online that said that you didn’t have to do the waiting/induction period, all the rest of the info I find comes from rehab places that treat it as though it’s suboxone even if you specify it’s Subutex. I hope you’re okay, let me know if you can, thank you!
Re: foreverillkid (# 619)
I did fine taking buprenorphine (Subutex) after 10 hours, just when I was getting uncomfortable. I hope this helps you
