Taking Lo Loestrin Fe 1 10, Is It Normal Not To Have A Cycle

My doctor put me on lo loestrin fe 1-10 because my cycle was lasting 10-15 days for about 2yrs. I am 41 and before I was 3-5 days at the most. I have been taking the pill for five months. The 1st pack I had the 10-15 day cycle. The 2nd pack I had a 8 day cycle with a little spotting 1week later. The 3 pack I had 2 full days & 2 spotting days. The 4th pack I didn't have a cycle not even spotting. On 5th pack now & still nothing. My doctor said the pills should regulate my cycle but last 2 month I haven't had a cycle. Since teen years I have always had a cycle. The only time it stopped was during pregnancy & depo shot (stopped taking at 25). Is this normal?

Hello, Nay! How are you?

Some women don't have periods, while taking this oral contraceptive and it's generally nothing to worry about, unless your doctor says otherwise.

At your age, you are most likely in perimenopause, which means your aren't ovulating every month and producing enough progesterone naturally to stabilize your cycle. That's why the OC can help, since it adds back the hormones you need.

You may also experience nausea, headaches, mood swings and weight changes.

Is there anything else I can help with?
