Taking Clindamycin With Asthma And Copd

I have lung problems and had tuberculosis when I was younger. I am now 66, have COPD and am very chemically sensitive. The dentist put me on clindamycin for an abscessed tooth. A lot of medications shut my lungs down and my oxygen drops. Should I take this medication?

Is your dentist aware that you have had, and do have, such health issues? Are you on any other medications?

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.

However, overall, it would be far more dangerous to let an infection like this rage out of control, than it is to try the medication.
