No, wine certainly does have side effects, you just may not notice them all immediately, but they are there, especially if you have more than a serving or 2 a day.
It does contain alcohol, so it can cause liver damage, stomach damage, esophageal damage and it can be cardio-toxic.
Things are made even worse, if you combine it with pain medications, such as NSAIDS and/or narcotics.
There are very good reasons that doctor's tell their patients not to drink, or to do so only in moderation. There are also good reasons most prescription drugs tell you not to drink, while taking them.
What medications do you take?
Thank you for your opinion. As a retired Nutritionist, the average diet of: caffeine, sodium, sugar, chemical additives, all processed foods (cans/boxed), fried foods, all sodas,GMO's, starch/wheat, fake non-food breads/cheeses (Velveta!), MEAT (especially Red meat), chicken, pork (bacon), and non-organic dairy will kill you before wine. Further, if you fully study the inserts to almost any prescription you will find cautionary side effects that cover just about every human condition possible from nightmares to headaches to incontinence, hallucinations, to blurred vision and depression and/or suicide! Its all a judgement call, really. I eat a clean vegetarian diet Organic fruits/vegies and evening wine! I'm certain I'm ahead of the game compared to the average American diet. I have never been over weight. Just feeling age slip upon me. At least I'm not ageing alone! Thank you.
