Taken For Two Years Now Lots Of Problems!
(Newest replies first)

I have been on Pristiq for two years 50mg, but have spent the past month in bed with nausea, fatigue, headache, body/joint aches/pain. I've had blood checked, etc. no problems. Decided to see if this one med that I take, that has helped in the past, is now making me sick. I can't find any good info on long-term problems online. I had been thinking that it was time to give my body a break, and will be cutting back, ie, every other day dosing, and look forward to seeing how I feel once out of my system. Any thoughts?

I was taking cymbalta for a few years and it stopped working as well as it once did. Perhaps you are going thru the same thing? My doctor switched me to pristq instead of upping my dose of cymbalta.
As slow of a taper as possible is usually best, when it comes to these types of medications.
I am very sorry that you have both suffered such problems from it.
Has anyone experienced this type of thing from Pristiq?
Even though medications have their normal expected effects, it's always so hard to know exactly what may happen, when you're messing with the balance of chemicals in the brain.

Hello, just read your post and can tell you that I have experiencing something similar... switched to Pristiq (from Lexapro) back in 2011. Since then, my overall "health" has definitely declined - not to mention a 30+ lb. weight gain. I reached a point last summer where I could barely function (fatigue, "fogginess", headache, and a general feeling of being unwell"). Had all kinds of tests done and found out that my cortisol levels were somewhat low... actually resigned from my job last October to take some time to focus on my health. Been doing all kinds of things to "get healthy" - cleaning up my diet, exercise and supplements (now taking glutathion, omega 3's and vitamin D). Have realized that to really get my health back - I will need to get this toxic drug out of my system! I am on 100mg and the thought of tapering off (due to the horrible discontinuation symptoms) is pretty scary. Please let me know how you are doing and if you have had any success with tapering off the 50mg. Thank you!
