It can be prescribed by any doctor with a valid medical license, it does not require a specialist.

The problem, however, generally arises when you go to a new doctor and start asking for or insisting on certain medications. It raises a lot of red flags for the doctors.

Especially since Xanax, which contains Alprazolam is a very potent Benzodiazepine and is highly addictive in nature.

Do you have your medical records? Have you had them transferred to a new doctor?
