UpdatedIs tanganil 500mg available in the US? I have tried several places without luck.

From what I could gather, Tanganil (acetyl-DL-leucine) does not appear to be available in the US - though this is just my own speculation. However some reports suggest that it may be obtained in other countries such as: France, Lebanon, Tunisia and Vietnam.
Interestingly enough, despite my lack of findings on its availability here in the States, The US National Library of Medicine still boasts several articles describing its applications and biology.
Have you considered contacting a (compounding) pharmacy as well?

Now that's at least a starting point to know what to search for. Let me note that acetyl-leucine should not be confused with acetyl-carnitine (which is very available in the US, but very different). And as for instance, one of the more prominent studies involving the product Tanganil used 5,000mg per day (the dose can be divided up within the day). Tanganil pills are 500mg each, and so a patient would take 10 pills daily total.
Now, with that in mind, we can attempt to see if we can locate any potential sources. I'm not extremely hopeful, but we have something to work with. I will report anything I can find.
[As an aside and as I'm researching this question, I'm finding several questions about how Acetyl-DL-Leucine is different than the commonly available L-Leucine. My response: "Most chemicals have a "D" and an "L" version, commonly known as a right and a left handed version - they are mirror images of the same molecule. Same composition, but shaped or arranged differently to a different structure. Usually one is active, and the other is inactive. As well, Tanganil and the others have the Acetyl group also attached that L-Leucine does not. Either or both of these differences could account for activity."]
Be sure to use alternative names when contacting the company, or your query may get overlooked.
I'm trying to order this but all I'm getting is the description of the amino (Acetylleucine). My neurologist tried also but we were have had no success! How can I order this?
