The Doc prescribed me this drug for my Hyper tension (80/140).What is the function of this drug?To which class of drugs does this belong to?

Xtor contains Atorvastatin, it is not used to treat hypertension, but rather to help lower cholesterol.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and joint/muscle aches.

It belongs to the Statin class of medications.

I do believe you mixed up what your medications are for, since you had posted a blood pressure medication asking if it was for cholesterol, as well.
