I've been taking Synaleve as a painkiller at night as I've just had a knee replacement. When I didn't take any because the pain had eased, I couldn't sleep. Is this a dependency issue?

Synaleve is listed as containing Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, Codeine, and Meprobamate, so not being able to sleep could be a withdrawal effect, if you stopped taking it abruptly, rather than tapering off of it.
The FDA also warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation.
