Symax-sr0.375mg
UpdatedI was wondering if this medication is used for the treatment of urinary track infection? And is it ok to take this medication if the expiration date is past. The expiration date was 2/16/05. Would this be safe to take and what would be the dangers of taking an expired Rx?

yes you can take the med, the expiration date just indicates that the medication is loosing its potency. but alway contact your pc
Symax is listed as containing Hyoscyamine, which is used to treat gastrointestinal problems, by slowing the action of the GI tract. It will not do anything to treat a bacterial infection, such as a UTI.
Once expired, medications also tend to lose potency, and may not work as well as they did, when new, so it is best to dispose of them, and see your doctor.
Typical side effects of Symax may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation.
Have you contacted your doctor?
