Switching From Amoxicillin To Azithromycin

I have a sinus infection and I was taking Amoxicillin to relieve my symptoms but so far it has not gotten better but worse. I was then prescribed Azithromycin 250 by my Dr. Is it safe to switch medication?

I have the same question. I have been going on amoxicillin for 40 days following a failed dental implant then removal of it and all infected areas around the area. It’s painful and swells.

I have a tooth infection and I was taking amoxicillin 500 mg but was prescribed azithromycin 250 mg. 2 the first day and 1 the rest. When can I start this? I took my last amoxicillin at 3. It's 8:13. I need to get rid of this infection.

I was taking Amoxicillin for a sinus infection and strep throat. The problem is it's not working, so I was given Azithromycin. I took my last dose of Amoxicillin this morning at about 10am, almost 12 hours ago. Can I start my Azithromycin tonight or should I hold off until tomorrow?

Yes, as long as your doctor has instructed you to do so, it is best to follow their directions.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
