Swelling Ankle Foot

I had knee surgery ( torn miniscus) ,left knee before surgery ankle would swell at times.. I was at home recovering for five weeks upon returning to work my ankle e started to swell again . Any explanations , theorys, or medical know how's on why it could be happening.

There are several reasons it could happen.

If you were not putting much weight and pressure on that leg for awhile, that could cause it.

Or it may also be edema, which is basically fluid retention.
