Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

My doctor made me drink golyte and super prep, I'm sitting trying to force the first bottle down, I'm throwing up, diarrhea OMG at the same time! Its been a rough night and I have to take 5 laxatives before I live at 6:20

Took the first dose at 10am and had just two small softish bowel movements. Did not really start to work until 5-5:30. Just about every 20 minutes I have to run to bathroom. Am using depends - which helps to feel a bit more secure and to prevent small accidents.

I'm worried bc I'm just starting my 2nd dose, which I've been dreading since starting the 1st! I'm so worried bc I can't force it down! What do I do? I've diluted it with lemon vitamin water, which is better, and diluted it into 4ths as several suggested and that's better. But I still can't get it down. I cannot chug it til its gone bc I've had gastric sleeve surgery and I just physically don't have the room to do that! I am so worried the last 5 hours will be for nothing if I can't get this down.

Yes .. I have used the Suprep and it is disgusting. Tastes like a heavy metal going down. You take the first bottle with lots of water, and then the second bottle an hour or two (I don't remember exactly) later. A lot of people don't take the full dose the second time as its horrible. But, you have a movement pretty quickly. Different doctors use different preps. I wouldn't use this one again.

I am a 50 year old paraplegic who normally uses digital stimulation to evacuate my bowels. When using Miramax and powerful to prep, as the doc ordered, I was nauseous and dizzy during the cleanse. Years later with my next colonoscopy prep I was the same way with the Suprep but Suprep worked so much faster and better. To combat the nausea I kept hydrated with glasses of apple juice and cold water. In 6 hours o was completely cleansed and passing clear liquid. Also talk to your doctor before the day of your procedure so that he can add meds to your IV that will reduce the incidences of feeling sick or getting infections after the fact. I WOULD RECOMMEND SUPREP TO EVERYONE. IYLT IS FAST SND EFFECTIVE.

I took mine at about 5pm. About 20 mins later i was on the pot. It is now almost 9 pm and i am still having bloats and squirts. It cleans you out. I had a colonoscopy two years ago and prep was a killer. This is not bad. None of it is good. Regardless , it is good to your colon cleaned sometimes.

After the second dose it started working within 15 minutes. Went for two hours and the done. Drove 1.5 hours to the test. In at 1:30pm out at 2:15. 30 minutes in recovery and on my way home. They found three small polyps. Have to go back in 4 years. Glad it is over. The prep was not pleasant but worth it. Drank Coke as soon as I woke up, that was great.

I followed a low fiber diet for almost a week before the prep. I had trouble before. My Doctor did not suggest any other diet but the internet had suggested it. I also drank a lot of water every day. It helped start my process a little faster. We'll have to see if I have good results.

First I called and asked my Mom. She had used it. She told me that she threw up 30 minutes after the first dose. So did I. The first dose didn't work right away. I saw a lot of people on here that said it did and I thought I did it wrong or something.. But it started working right before the 2nd dose. The 2nd dose IS harder to drink.

Fortunately for me, the pharmacy was out of Suprep. I'll have to drink 4 L of a generic NULYTELY but it only cost $10.00. When I asked about the cost of Suprep, they said $170.00. I might have also gotten a $34.00 discount. Looking online for the retail cost of the medical grade components of Suprep I found the following:

[Wt (Oz) / Wt (g) / Price / Dose (g) for Price]
Sodium Sulfate 4 oz 113.5 g $7.99 35.00 $2.46
Potassium Sulfate 24 oz 681 g $40.99 6.26 $0.38
Magnesium Sulfate 16 oz 454 g $20.00 3.2 $0.14
Cost to purchase components at retail (Total) $2.98 per dose

Add the cost of packaging etc and this is still an incredible profit margin. Nevertheless, my guess is that the cost of defending even one legal case could gobble a lot of profits, let alone if damages were awarded.

Tastes awful. Hard to get down with all the fluids. Fought really hard not to vomit. Prep was successful for exam. It's been a week and I still have cramps, diarrhea, bloating and gas. Belly is still noisy. Wish they would have told me about the prolonged after effects.
