Sun Pharma 460's Buprenorphine Hell
UpdatedI see this group to be for support and information based on experience(s). So I will share mine regarding this horrible medicine with 460 imprinted on a round chalky white tablet. To say I had bad side effects is kind. Aside from the burning under the tongue, subsequent nausea, fatigue, depression, cravings, poor sleep, outbursts, after taste that took forever to go away, I really am a person that seriously likes to give something a chance. And this medicine for me was an actual horror of 28 days until I could get my Westward again. It made me dose off and worst for me was the cravings. I felt so awful all the time on the Sun Bupes I would start thinking about my old methods of feeling better. Not good. Suboxone and Subutex saved my life. After 40 years off and on finally I feel human and normal. But these Sun 460's I would not recommend these to anyone!!! Especially if someone was trying to get clean.
I suggest to anyone that is taking anywhere from 16mg a day or more. To research other brands. Find out... before they even attempt to fill your prescription. Ask questions in person. Be proactive. This stuff ain't cheap. And if you have good insurance then get good medicine. This stuff is awful!!! It may take some time and effort but believe you me it will be worth it. The Westward for me are the best out of 6 different generics I have tried in the past two years. Again my experience. As human beings our physiology is different from each other and we all react differently. I have read where the Rhodes Purdue is a very good choice if you can get it. Here in Northern California I haven't found it. But as long as I am able to get my Westward/Hikma Bupes I am happy. It ain't broke so I ain't gonna fix it. Please at least research your manufacturer of Buprenorphine prescribed. Hi Tech (Costco, Safeway, Luckys) and Sun Pharma (CVS) are very weak and did not last more than 2 hours ...for me. Westward 5-7 hours easily. I take 32 mg a day and sometimes only 16mg and I am a happy camper. The Westward really helps me. Like it is supposed to do. Sun made me and everything worse. Stay away from the Sun Pharma from India. Many people on this board have had same experiences. Good luck Stay grateful.

Dealing with a new manufacturer every month it seems. This Country has to do better by us. Uncle Sam has been taking his cut, provided, made it so cannabis was a rarity, but everyone had their lil blue oxy's. Now my life is a carousel ride every month..just so I stay productive and positive. This month: hi tech. So small why bother trying to cut down. I had to take both doses yesterday just to get out of bed.
I used to be on Roxanne brand and Hi-Tech (Midlothian). I believe both of them have been sold to other companies. I preferred Hi-Techs over Roxanne (Westward). I will say that that was back in 2012 though. I had a problem with Malinkrodt’s N8 Suboxone. I had to quit taking it due to the side effects. Hard to get Subutex in USA even with a documented allergy. So I switched to Kratom. Tough transition, but doable.
Yes I totally agree with you. In fact I ended up filing a complaint with the FDA about this nasty garbage. I think, sadly enough, a lot of generic meds are getting really bad. It's all about the money. I've been on subs since 2005. Yes, they saved my life as well. We, as consumers have rights. I urge you to be proactive about crappy expensive garbage. Also you can notify the Naabt. org. This is the National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment. They are very supportive and encouraging. God bless
Now the 460s are one that has never crossed my path in buprenorphine treatment since 2007.my dose is 3 and a half up to 8mgs daily. My norm has always be the hikma 54 411s..now last month my pharmacy was closed my drs appointment happened to be late that afternoon and I wasn't thinking. But i had to get my meds.or i would not have woke up to any. And i usually dont have the car to 4pm i had to use Walgreens as usual they had the horrible orange half moon..they always do..i was soo sick for the entire month. My dr. called me in some nausea medacine along with clonadine..but damn I bvb will never let that happen again. Now I'm on the new Rhodes. I'm doing very well..but I believe it takes awhile to get back in the swing after a lousy month..its sorta hard to bvb say humm hikma, or Rhodes..both are fantastic. I'm definitely leaning towards Rhodes because of the smooth taste bit dosen't have that strong bup taste..but they are definitely very strong.
Re: Charlene (# 4)
I found a Pharmacy here after 3 months of search. That is ordering the Rhodes Purdue and the cost is less than $2 each. I pick them up next week. It was a lot of calling, emailing and visiting. But a small compounding Pharmacy in San Francisco is taking care of me. From now on they will order these for me.
Re: Davidjw1 (# 5)
I'm very happy for you.your right its alot of work to get what were looking for. They seem to make it hard for us to have to do it to find the generic that address with one.it shouldn't be like that. I dont see people like my husband hunting down his coloesteral pills..he never did drugs like me ti be on buprenorphine. So until recently he couldn't under stand why can I use the pharmacy he uses or just get a sub.hed say they are all the same..I'd say right back NO THEY ARE NOT. last month when I got stuck on actavis he seen me sick and weak
Re: James (# 2)
Hi James so you made the jump subs for kratom? It's a wise choice. Good for you.how is working? I will admit it didn't work for me. I could never get my sub dose low enough to let kratom do its job. However I'm a firm believer for this beautiful plant and I hope one day I can do what you did
Re: PrettyprettyPissed (# 1)
I hear you. This is one topic that pisses me off. We took those pills that the government knew so much about. Then we get addicted to these more expensive pills called buprenorphine. Then we have to pay more; damn my habit was cheaper then subs. But I'll stick to it..now we have to just about embarrass ourselves calling and going in and out of pharmacies just in hopes they have our brand in..first of all these subs should be given to us, and 2 keep good ones on the market and weed out the junk. It's a topic I can go on and on about.
Re: Charlene (# 6)
Well I will say most generics I have taken for whatever illness seemed to be just as good as name brand. I recall when my Vicodin/percocet habit got out of hand I did have a preference for name brand and or a particular Watson brand. I really think any medication that is for anything pain related the generics really take advantage of the + or - 20% rule. Sun Pharma especially. It really is natural for normal folks to not understand what we deal with. But it's ok. Better than trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with us all the time on our "pain" pills. Cheers to Rhodes Purdue the Pharmacies need to wake up. They are the best and they are not that expensive. Either way I hope more folks just get better with what they have. I have had too many horrible experiences with some of the other generics. I was bound and determined to get the best for me. Westward Hikma 54 411 are very good as well. Looking forward to picking up legally... my new prescription this week.
Hi david, I'm back..I found your page again so I marked it as a favorite so I wouldn't forget to check in..how are the Rhodes still working for you? I just found out my little mom n pop pharmacy is going to carry either the hikma, or Rhodes what ever we want to choose to that month. I have done the Rhodes 3 months in a row now. It's hard to compare the two when I don't have them side by side. I'm still loving Rhodes. I know whenever we get something new the first months not so hot your body is still adjusting from one to the other..so I'm just curious what others have to say with all honesty about them both because they are the two top generics we have as of now thx
Since my posting on the horrible results from Sun Pharma buprenorphine I have been fortunate to have discovered a pharmacy that regularly supplies me with Rhodes RP/b8 generic buprenorphine tablets. My hope is all the calls and emails to CVS, Sun and the FDA has deterred the big chains other than Walgreens that uses Actavis for their generics pretty much for everything. If you find this topic and have the Sun pharma buprenorphine I hope it works for you. If not, there is a ton of info for an alternate.
Re: James (# 2)
Congratulations james on your switch to kratom!! I'm hoping it works well with u. I can relate to what you're saying. I had to sign a petition today for the American kratom association. Let's help keep this plant legal..yep, it's crazy now we are fighting for 2 plants. Oh don't ever turn back to subs again. Consider yourself lucky to jump from it.
I have been on the original orange hexagonal Subutex back in the early 2000s, the Hikma (used to be Roxane), the little Hi-Tec tabs, and am now back on the 54 411s which are the best (obviously in my opinion). CVS used to stock them until about 2011 but now you have to search for them. If you find a decent pharmacy, they'll get them for you.
Re: Roxanne 56 (# 3)
I have been on subutex since 2009. Last year I decided it was time to stop. I started at 16 milligrams and I’m down to 3 now. NEVER has a single problem going down on mgs until I got these subs from Sun pharma last week. I think I’ve been in withdrawals the entire time! HORRIBLE Migraines, can’t breathe, diarrhea, feeling like I’m coming out if my skin. You name it. Also, I’ve been able to go as much as 36 hours on 4 mgs. The longer I’m on these the more often I have to take this. Today has been the worst!! Of course it’s Friday so I can’t get a hold of my doctor. Thank GOD i have THE best subutex fixture in the world!!! He’ll write a new script to up the dose so my insurance will pay for it and I can get it from the pharmacy I usually do.
What are you talking about, they all have a nasty taste to them there is no difference in the generic Subutex. I took the Hikma ones 54 411s the Rhodes RP B8 and got the Sun 460s felt fine on all 3.
Re: davidjw1 (# 11)
Bro there is no difference in Sun than any other generic Subutex lol. They all have the same main ingredient Bup in it. It's in your head man. I been on Subutex for 10 years got all different generic brands only difference is the taste. Your not a doctor not a pharmacist to be giving out bad information.
