Sulfamethoxazole Tmp Ds Tablet And Mouth/tongue Raw Feeling

My mouth palate and tongue feel raw while I am on this medicine, should I stop?

I have just taken my first pill of Bactrim for a MRSA infection i developed on my arm. Before taking my pills I usually pin them with the underside of my tongue, but where the pill touched is now painful and swollen. My best advice is to just take the medicine as quickly as possible because it contains sulfur and sulfur usually makes your tongue very painful.
