Sulfamethoxazole-tmp Ds-tablet H49

Hey I have a boil on the left side of my buttocks and its almost ready to burst can I take this pill now while its almost there?. The pill is pretty big and white I'm 23 it kind of scared me. Should I take half of it first or just the whole thing? How long do I take these pills?

You should only take it, if your doctor has directed you to do so, if not, then it may not be the right medication to treat whatever has caused this issue, or you may not have enough of it to fully eradicate the infectious bacteria, which creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Has the boil been cultured?
