My husband is 10 days in on his prescription and has just noticed a rash on upper thighs & arm pits. He was given this drug to treat diverticulitis & hasn't experienced any other problems or side effects until now. Should this be something to be concerned about?

This medication can cause a non-allergic skin rash as a side effect, so if there is no itching and hives, then there should be nothing to worry about. However, if he experiences hives, itching, or if it worsens, he should see his doctor.
Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea.
